Wattle & Daub Wall

The project

This guide documents a hands-on wattle and daub screen wall built as part of a community-led project attended by Crafted Landscapes. It is not a theoretical manual or an academic text. It is a practical, experience-based guide rooted in real materials, real people, and real work on the ground.

What the guide teaches

• A full introduction to wattle and daub construction
• Clear step-by-step guidance written in a natural, story-led format
• Materials and tools lists based on real site use
• Common mistakes and practical considerations
• Community-focused, hands-on approach rather than theory
• Suitable for DIYers, makers, gardeners, and educators
