Our Story

  1. Jamie and his brothers as children, building in the garden

    Early Years

    Inspired by Nature

Jamie grew up in the Sussex countryside, surrounded by landscaping and construction. Working alongside his dad and grandad from a young age, moving turf and pointing patios, he developed an early appreciation for natural materials, traditional craftsmanship and the satisfaction of making things from scratch. He and his two brothers turned their dad's leftover materials into camps, makeshift pools and cabins, the beginnings of a lasting connection with the natural world and a hands-on approach to creativity.

    Education

    An Architectural Foundation

After studying in Brighton, Jamie worked in architectural design, learning how buildings, gardens and the wider landscape fit together. His architectural education gave him the technical and creative foundations for a distinctive design approach, combining architectural thinking, practical craftsmanship and an appreciation for the natural world.

    Building Something of Our Own

In 2017, Jamie left an established career in architectural design to found Crafted Landscapes, seeking the freedom to explore his own creativity and bring his ideas to life. It was an opportunity to combine architectural thinking with hands-on craftsmanship, establishing a studio where design and crafting could come together.

    Looking Ahead

    Our Future

Some of our best ideas are still taking shape.

We remain curious by nature, always exploring new materials, techniques and ways of working more closely with the landscape.

Each project teaches us something, and we carry that forward, refining our craft and allowing our work to evolve quietly over time.

What comes next will be guided by the same things that brought us here: thoughtful design, honest craftsmanship and a deep respect for the natural world.

Landscapes. Architecture. Design. To Us, They Are One.
